Hi. I'm trying to apply the script to a mail merge in three separate very small fields. I'm getting overflow text in all three of them despite having the shrink and enlarge option checked. What am I missing?

Hello.
With mail merge, it's important first to run the mail merge, and once you've got the populated pages, only then to run Fit Text.
Is that what you're doing?
If that's not the answer, could you upload a screenshot of the page with frame edges and hiddent characters showing?

Ariel That helped! Now that I know what I was doing wrong there, maybe you can tell me how to narrow down this spacing?

BarringtonMMP Hmm, I'm not quite sure what I'm seeing here.
Do you mean that the space between Arlington and Heights is too wide? I think that's a factor of the width of the gap between the 2 columns.
So Fit Text is fitting the words to the columns, but (since version 2.5.0) it specifically makes an effort not to modify the column and gutter width of multi-column frames.

Ariel I didn't create a two column frame, the script did. It's supposed to be one name Arlington Heights. It shouldn't be in two separate columns. It works fine on single name cities, but on ones with multiple words this is what's happening.

It's very hard to tell from the screenshot what is happening. Could you send me the file, or a few pages from the file, to test?
