TypeError in a line when translating

I am translating a manual and the error that you can see in the attached photo appears.

I have put the line numbering, as you explain on your website, to see where the error was because I thought it was a photo or drawing, but it is text, and I don't know how to fix it.

(1) Try downloading the latest version of DeepL Translate (3.2.9) and see if that fixes the issue: https://www.id-extras.com/shopping-cart/my-account/

(2) I'm not sure how the line numbers are supposed to help here. Where on the website are you referring to that I recommend doing so?

First I tried to translate without putting the line numbers but I got that error.

Then I put the line number to know which line it referred to.

Oh I see. No, that's a misunderstanding. The line number that appears in the error message refers to the line in the Translate software that threw the error, it has nothing to do with your document!

I've played around with the file a bit.
I haven't tried to translate it all in one go, but when I try to translate it story by story (i.e., I select one text frame, and translate only that story) everything seems to be working pretty much normally. (Although I'm having trouble translating the table of contents — I don't get an error, but it doesn't seem to want to translate, so that's something I still need to look into.)
But apart from that, everything seems to be working when doing it one story at a time.
Have you tried translating one story at a time? Are you finding that that also throws an error?

I have done the following tests:

First I have translated a story and the text disappears. I attach a photo of the page with the original text and another photo of the page when I translate the story and the text disappears.

Then I made the translation selecting 3 stories at the same time and it gives the same error as before. I attach a photo.

Hi @Esther,
I tried translating exactly as you show, and everything works fine and as expected for me, including when translating the individual story, or all 3 together.
Perhaps try restarting InDesign and then try again. And/or export the document to .idml, reopen that, and then try translating again.

I use Indesign 20.1x64 version 2025, what version do you have?

I tested with the latest version of InDesign 20.1, like you.
I thought the issue was just with this document (or these particular text frames) and that you were able to translate other parts of the document, and other documents, successfully.

... but now it sounds like you're not managing to use Translate on any document?
If that's the case, let's do a simple test. Create a brand new document. Draw out a single text frame. Write a simple sentence, and then try running translate to translate it to something else.
Does that work?

Sorry for the delay, I have tried the following tests, but none of them work.
I have started a new manual and tried to translate it, but I get the same error, both with several pages and one sentence:

Sorry for the delay in replying.
I did just try to translate the following sample text into English (from Spanish), using version 3.2.9 of our DeepL Translate script. Seems to work fine for me:

So I think the problem must be that your computer is somehow being blocked from receiving (or sending) stuff to our Id-Extras server...

Perhaps give your IT department the following info, in case they have a firewall that is blocking things. It might help them:
"DeepL Translate needs access to phpstack-579153-1874300.cloudwaysapps.com on port 80."

Another corporate customer recently told me that what was preventing our Translate add-on from working in their corporate environment was: "The problem was that I wasn't connected to the VPN for one of the program's folders to be recognized."

Maybe either of those ideas will help?

This has been fixed. The IT department has deactivated the security profiles and it is now working correctly.
