Can't use Dictionary with Google Translate add-on

Hello.
I am trying to use a custom dictionary with the Google Translate add-on, but when I click on "Open Folder" in the "User Dictionary Folder" section, the "Volumes" folder on my PC opens.
I understand that a selection window should open to choose my dictionary.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?
I am working on a Mac with InDesign 18.5.2.
The Google Translate add-on version is 2.5.0

Hi @ALBERTO,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
The custom dictionary feature in our Google Translate add-on is much weaker than the DeepL Translate add-on. So firstly, if you can, I would recommend using the DeepL version.
As for the specific question, if I've understood correctly (a screenshot might help), simply navigate on your harddrive to wherever the dictionary file is and select it.
(Are you working on a mac or PC? You mention both.)

Hi Ariel,

I chose Google Translate because I need support for Catalan, and from what I’ve seen, DeepL Translate doesn’t have it.

I work on a Mac with macOS 10.15.7.

I’ve been reading the User Guide more carefully and saw that I need to save the .txt file in the same folder where the extension is stored.

However, the dictionary still doesn’t work. In the screenshots, you can see that the word “Mercado” is translated into Catalan, but according to the dictionary, it should remain unchanged. I’m attaching a screenshot showing the before and after translation. Additionally, I’m also attaching the files I’m working with.

The dictionary feature doesn't work very well with Google Translate. I'm working on an update to get it up to par with the DeepL version, but it might take a few weeks.
The instructions you're seeing are probably for DeepL, not for the Google version.
For Google, it is ciritical that the [[ and ]] don't span more than one paragraph or any style changes.
